Mark A. & Altie Johnson Hatfield
I am looking for information on the family of Mark A. and Altie Johnson Hatfield. Can anyone verify that they are buried in Claude, Armstrong Co., Texas?
I have Altie (my husband's line) having died in August 1976 via SSDI.Her last known addres sisClaude, Texas.I saw a family tree for Mark having the following info on him:
Born:27 Oct 1889, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Tx.
Died:Dec 1963 in Claude, Armstrong, Tx.
His birth date correlates with the 1930 census, but not with the 1920 census; however, I'm sure we all have a lot of questionable census info.
Did anyone have family bible info or any other info on the family?
Alta was the eldest daughter of George Washington and Margaret Alice "Maggie" Smith JOHNSON.She married Mark on 13 Dec 1912 (Book 4, p. 172) Garvin Co., Ok., records.
I have a picture of Alta and Mark with the Geo. W. & Maggie Johnson family. My mother-in-law (Ruth Johnson Griffin) says she thinks they lived with George & Maggie for some time before their children were born.I would guess the picture is from about 1911-13, which makes sense with them being married in 1912.I had dated the photo according to the youngest child's approximate age in the photo.
Any research, especially backed up info, would be greatly appreciated.I'll gladly pay for copies and postage.I hope to get their marriage certificate which hopefully will give me more information to correlate with this line.
Their children re :Lillian, Jasper, G.D., Virgie, Bonny (Bonnie), Mearle (Merrill) and Cecil .. as remembered by my mother-in-law.I saw an Ashland somewhere on the Internet referred to as a child, but don't have any info on this child.
From the 1930 census:
Lillian b: 1914 (OK)
Jasperb: 1915 (OK)
G. D.b: 1918 (OK)
Virgilb: 1921 (OK)
Bonnieb: 1923 (OK)
Mearlb: 1925 (OK)
Cecilb: 1929/30 (OK)
On the family tree, the children are listed as having been born in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Tx.With Mark and Altie appearing with their children in the Garvin Co., Ok, census in both 1920 and 1930 census, with all their children having been born in Oklahoma. My feeling is that they were born in or near Elmore, Garvin Co., Ok.
One question that I have is:Was Bonnie a female? She is listed as such in the 1930 census; however, Bonnie was a very common male name and was the name of my mother-in-law's father, Bee Bonnie Johnson.
