I recently did some research on James Hatfield of Spencer County Indiana who was born in Daviess County Ky.Hatfield Indiana was named after this James who was it'sfirst postmaster.
James was a son of Elijah Hatfield and Emaline Morgan of Daviess Co Ky.Emiline died in 1843 when James was 5 weeks old.Elijah later married Nancy Reader and had other children. Possibly your grand mother was named after Elijah's first wife????
Elijah and Emaline
George Washington B-1841, D-1867
James Battle B-1843, D-1890
Elijah and Nancy
Sarah Elizabeth b-1848
Rhoda Francis B-1850
Elijah PaytonB-1853
Matilda Emaline B-1854
Susan Martha B-1860
It looks like both surviving sons were burried across the Ohio river in Indiana.I suspect that your Landon was a descendent of this Elijah of Daviess Co Ky.
As far as the name "Landon", it is more or less a common name among the fueding and fussin Hatfields of Pike County Ky and Mingo County WV.
