Sandra,
Good to hear from you!I was beginning to think that everyone else had given up on the Hatfield line. This line has been a "bear" to research as there is not much info out there.I'm sorry to say that I do not have any more info on Esther - I'll see what I can dig up though.
Who do you believe to be Samuel P. Hatfield's parents? In just looking at the Census records I tend to bgelieve that "ol" Samuel Hatfield is his father. The ages are right to include J.J.T, Samuel P & Richard as being his sons.If this proves to be true then the elder Samuel is our Revolutionary War Patriot (Sergeant, Ross' Troop, Middleton's Regiment, Sumters Brigade State Troops. Also, He married Francis Pollard, d/o John Pollard. This may account for him naming his son Samuel "P" Hatfield.I still don't know where everyone gets the "Parker" from - I think it's "Pollard."Since the beginning I have been trying to make the "Hatfield/McCoy" connection with no luck as yet.How 'bout you?
I grew up in Sumter:Susan Hatfield Saunders d/o L.H. and Mary Hattfield.
... And the search goes on
Susan
