MarkI just remebered that the Thomas Hatfield who lived in Allen County IN c 1824 had a sonBenjamin who was born in Montgomery County OH in the early 1800-1820 period. He inherited the family farm there which is still owned by Hatfields.A Brian Smead who is researching that line sent me a picture of the farm. This is one of the family lines I suspect of being closely related to the Wm Hatfield 1702 b Haversfordwest Wales.I think it is possible that Wm may have had a brother John who came to DE about the same time as WM.They seem to be in the same areas of DE, OH< and IN at the same t imes. There is also another Thomas who is still in OH in the 1840's who is listed as a brother of Samuel and John who were killed in the Rev War.These men seem to be related to the WM line as Thomas had a son John who md Nancy "a distant cousin" and this cousin turns out to be a dau of Owen John Sr Hatfield who is the father of my Levi.I hope some of htis info is helpful, I have a lot of historical connected material on these people.
As far as Mattias 1623 NY/NJ is concerned, I believe one of his grand sons was a Cornnelius and the other was an Abraham.Abraham's history genealogy was done by an Edward Hatfield I believe and it is through Abraham's line that the McCoy Hatfield lines are traced.
The James Hatfield I mentioned to you traces back to this line and almost all the names of the main males start with A, Abraham, Abram, Adam, Allen, etc.He can be reached by phone by calling the directory services for Lovilla, Iowa or Hamilton Iowa.
Hope I am not confusing you.CArol
