This is probably the wrong info, but here goes.My original William Hatfield 1705 was born in wales and md Mary White relative of Wm White according to christening papers.Second William was born in Kent Co DE 1733 and may have had brothers John, Thomas and Samuel. He md Mary White b 1753 Westwell, Kent, England d of Stephen and Elizabeth Pallemore White. Their son was Owen J Hatfield Sr 1773 DE Murderkill 100.He married Anne Lanna McBride d of Robert McBride and had son Levi b 1795 Kent Co MrdKIll100. He md Rachel Watkins d of Jonathon of Mason Co KY and had son Owen D 1820 who md Telinda d of Jospeh and Telinda Jackson. He was my gg grd ftr.
When I was researching this material, I could find little in direct DE records and found that some of it was in Maryland Records as well as PA. The reason for this was that in about 1690 Benjamin Franklin set aside about40000 acres of the land England had awarded him for Pennsylvania as "The three lower counties." this area was called the Welsh Baptist Tract and was to be primarily settled by Welsh persons. This land consisted of the areas of Meronith in PA, Cecil Co MD, and the upper reaches of what is now DE.My Hatfields listed above lived in Kent Co near the town of Fredricka. They had labels such as Cow Marsh Murderkill 100, Black Swamp Forest, and other such colorful listings, however I also found a James Hatfield line whose wife/mother was Piercy Hudson in Kent co and isn't in my direct line, and others in Suffex Co DE.All this info came from a DE Wills Abstracts in the MD Archives.
You might also try Quaker Records because there are several lines in the Monthly Meeting Reports which have Hatfields of the DE,MD, and FAirfax VA area.
