In the newspaper, Cahawba Democrat, published at Cahawba, Alabama, July 28, 1838:
Died in Merriweather Co., Ga. on the 17th inst., Major James HATCHER, aged 63 years. Maj. HATCHER was a native of South Carolina, but at an early age became a citizen of Georgia, where he resided until 1818, when he moved to Alabama settling at Hatchers Bluff.
I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource.
