Thank you Jean McCracken for the information - Are you related to the Haswell family in some way?My sources of information in trying to locate relatives are:
1. A very old family bible approximately five or six inches thick. In the first part of the bible where there is a place for family records, it shows:Charlie W. Hasswell and Adelaide Florida Haswell as "Parents" and lists Henry, Mary and Della as "Children".In that section it also shows the children as having been born in Chickasaw or Oklahoma Indian Territory.
2. A newspaper clipping from the Medford Tribune in the Society Section "Woodhouse-Haswell Marriage Rites In North Revealed. The article indicates the wedding was a suprise to many of their friends - they went to Vancouver, Washington to marry. The article then goes on to say the couple then took a train to South Ben< Indiana and purchased a new car and thewent on to Louiseville, KY, Kansas, and Oklahoma City to visit Mr. Haswell's relatives. They also went on to Denver and other Colorado cities to visit Mrs. Haswell's sisters.
3. I also have copies of newspaper clippings from the Medford Tribune when Henry T. Haswell drowned in the Rogue River on July 6, 1939 while fishing. It also indicates he is survived by his sisters, Mary Haswell Webber and Della Young. The article goes on to priase him for his many years of service as Assistant Fire Chief at the Medford Fire Department and his membership in the Oregon National Guard. It describes a vey lavish military funeral procession.I visited the grave sites of Henry and his mother Adelaide in Siskiyou Memorial Park where they are both interred a few years ago.
I would love to hear further from you if you know of any other Haswell family members or can tell me anything more about my gradfather, Eugene Fisk Young.I have not been able to find out much about him at all.I have a copy of my father's birth certificate (it only indicates Eugene Fisk Young was born in Minnesota
