I'm crossposting this message to this post also because it contains a record stating Mary Tompkins' birth date was 1719, which would probably mean there is a lost generation somewhere here.

I found a marriage record for Benjamin Hasty to Mary Tompkins (not Mary Elizabeth). There are other listings in IGI and here showing Benjamin's wife as Elizabeth, m. 1745. The marriage to Mary Tompkins had to be after her first husband, Wm. Sandefur died. Benjamin was named guardian 14 Feb 1760 of several of Sandefur's children, so presumably the marriage occurred around that time. (Virginia Genealogist, v. 23, p. 123). Boddie, Historical Southern Familes, lists a Benjamin as a son of immigrant James Hasty. The IGI lists birth dates for a Benjamin from 1715 to 1745. (Maybe more than one?). Mary Tompkins was born 12 Feb 1719 (according to Marriages of Some Virginia Residents, vol 2 part 3, p. 107.) This would make Mary Tomkins around 41 when she married Benjamin. I assume Benjamin is near the same age (the 1725 date would make him 6 years younger). Mary wouldn't have a lot of time left to have more children at that age. Turning to Benjamin Hasty (II), his birth date in 1769 would make Mary 50 when he was born. I worry that we have a missing generation here.
