Joseph Gentry Hastings born July 3 1822 died July 2 1845 is my gggreat grandfather. He married Elizabeth Stribling. Her father was Mark Mitchell Stribling from South Carolina. Mark Stribling is listed in the 1841 Chickasaw County Mississippi tax list. I believe Joseph and Elizabeth were married in 1841 or 1842. Joseph and Elizabeth had 2 children. John Mitchell Hasting born 1843 and Martha Hastings born about 1845. Joeseph Gentry died in Yalabousha County Mississippi in 1845. It has been said he was buried in Hastings cemetery. This part of Yalabousha was form from Chickasaw, and it later became Calhoun County Mississippi. I have been there many time and am sorry to say the Hastings cemetery no longer exist.
