The information I have tracked down so far on this is that Joseph (1831-1884) married Catherine Baxter (1834-1873) on Aug. 29, 1850. They had four sons, Isaiah (1852-1886), Montreville (1885-?), Albert (1861-1893) and William on whom I can find nothing, except that he married Annie W. Fisher on April 4, 1878, here in Stark County. Montreville (aka Mount) married Mary Fisher on July 11, 1881 in Summit County and both are interred the the Hasler family vault in Westlawn Cemetery in Canton. Albert (our great-grandfather), married Margaret (Maggie) Mullen on July 7, 1881 in Stark
County. As for Isaiah, I can find nothing as to his having been married, and he is buried in the family plot, also in Westlawn.
As you know, Albert & Margaret had 2 children, Myrtle (1889-1958) and grandpa(1891-1951), whose real first name was Elmer, but was called Atlee because at some point in time, Aunt Myrtle (being the oldest) decided she did not care for the name Elmer and began calling him Atlee. According to Mom's birth certificate, when she was born they were still spelling the name Hassler, so sometime after 1915 one "S" was dropped.
