The John you mentioned died at the age of 13. James I am not sure about, he could be mine as the birth year is correct. Could you please tell me how I find out who paid the boy's passage out here?. The boys were born in Ireland.
With regard to John Hassett (convict) he came out on the Earl of St. Vincent 1828, and was around the Newcastle area, this was also where my James was reported at being born. On James marriage and death certs. it lists parents as unknown.
The name John appeared for a few generations, so have to check out John as a possible father to James.
