Blennerhassett to Hassett?

Looking for info on Mary Blennerhassett born in Ireland c. 1851. Father is Arthur. My have brothers John and Richard.
Mary married William McAdoo around 1871, possibly in Massachusetts. The family was Protestant, but William and Mary's children converted to Catholicism after their parents death in 1889 and 1892.
John and Richard Blennerhassett were witnesses on the naturalization papers for William McAdoo in 1876.
They all lived in Cambridge, MA at the time.

It is possible that John and Richard dropped the Blenner from their name, as alot of Hassetts are listed in the Cambridge, MA directories 1887 - 1890.
Any and all info greatly appreciated.
