My Hassalls all hail from the Clifton Campville area and I wonder if they pop up in your tree at all.

The earliest is a brickmaker called John Hassall born in the 1770's and he had a son called Isaac Hassall in 1812 (ish). he married a Margaret Clarke in Cheshire in 1850 but moved back to Clifton and had children - Samuel (b. Helsby 1850), John (b. Clifton or Lichfield 1855), Isaac (b. Clifton 1857), Mary (Clifton, 1863) and William (Clifton, 1866).

John, b. Clifton Campville 1855, married an Emily Thorpe and had a son called Frederick (b. Clifton, 1875). John died sometime in the 1880's (don't know how or where) and was a coal miner before he became a soldier. His son moved to Derby after his mother remarried.

I'd be quite interested in getting the details of all the Hassalls of Clifton Campville - there must be a link.
