Linda - Linda - Re : "Hops". This is realy Hass. The old way of writing a double "s" was often like a "p". Hence, a name likle Jessee ws written Je"p"ee. I find a Henry Hass in 1840 DeKalb County, Tenn with the "Hops" spelling, age bracket 30-40. On the sane page was Philip ""Hops", age 50-60, a likely father to this Henry. I think I have seen this Philip elsewhere and will try to find where. DeKalb County was formed in 1837 from parts of Warren, White and Cannon counties. - Ken Notify Administrator about this message?
