Hi Jill: I was so excited to get your rootsweb reply. My great grandmother (Annie Susan)r was born 1871 and died in 1949. She lived with us after her husband died. ( I was 3 when great-grandma died )This is what I know about the Haslams: Firstly, Richard always used the spelling HASLEM, I don't know why. After his death, it seems that the children used the spelling HASLAM. Richard and Anne BANNON (also spelled as BANNIN or BANNAN) were married 5 May 1852 in Aghaboe in the parish of Aghaboe the Church of England. These were the children: Anna Jane 1853 (1 yr, 3 mos, 17 days) died 10 Oct 1854. Thomas William 1855 to 1936, Edwin Francis 8 May, 1857 to 1888, twin brother to Ed was Albert Franklin. Albert died 1925. Jonathan 9 June 1859 died 1924. George Henry 4 Aug 1862 (died of scarlet fever at 7 mos) 4 Mar 1862. Ellenor Mary 25 Apr 1863 to 25 May 1863. Richard Samuel (Jr.) 30 Apr 1865 to ? George Henry 27 Mar 1867 to 4 Oct 1948. Henrietta (called Hattie) 28 Mar 1869 to 1 Apr 1934, *Annie Susan 16 July to 24 July 1949, Frederick Thomas 16 Nov 1873 to 31 Dec 1948, and Emily Frances 2 Nov 1875 to 6 Jan 1949.

Richard & Anne landed at New York from Ireland on 13 Jan 1854. I have not been able to find their ship record as many were destroyed. This entry is written in the family Bible kept by Annie Susan. I will send you these copies & the marriage register and whatever else you want. I have a photo of Hattie, Annie and Emily together. I also have a 4 generation photo of Ann Bannon Haslam, Annie Susan, my grandmother, Ida May and my aunt taken about 1916. There is also a family picnic photo with Anne Bannon Haslam .

The Haslems settled in Woodbridge and that is where my great grandmother and grandmother were born. Richard Samuel was a laborer. My husband & I were there a few years ago and took photos of Christ Church...outside only. On the 1871 Ontario census there are several Haslams.. The other from Ireland is Alfred. And I know that my grandmother kept in touch with a George Haslem, but I don't know how they were related.

Please write and tell me about your branch. I know there are still Haslams in and around Toronto, but I have tried to reach them by letter with no success. Only one answered and he lived near London, Ont.

my e-mail address is: mjspaeth46@aol.com

I used my daughter's e-mail on the rootsweb page.
