William Haskins (Hoskins), b. 1776, may have married Nancy Willis. The reason for thinking this is a marriage record, Pittsylvania Co., VA, 14 Dec 1801, sur. Langton Johnson.Thomas Hoskins is the father of William on the record.
Children:
1. William, m. Rosana Sowards, stayed in Lawrence Co., OH.
2. Zerilda (my ancestor), m. Henry Harmon, moved to Gentry Co., MO.
3. Sugar, m. Louisa C. ?, moved to Gentry Co.
4. Perhaps Leanah, m. James Brumfield.
5. Perhaps Nancy, m. Sartain Brumfield.
The name Brumfield pops up occasionally in Gentry Co., MO, records.
I have one interesting snippet concerning Wm. Haskins' death. It's from the Ironton Register, 3 Jul 1873 (OH Historical Soc., Film No.18705), from a column called "From the Country," signed "Peart."It reads, "While at this point, I learned of the death, June 9th, of Wm. Haskins, an old citizen of the neighborhood, in his 98th year; . . . "
I'd certainly appreciate any additional info you may have on this family.
