Just wanted to share the following information, which I extracted from the Agan Family Bible manuscript record at the DAR Library yesterday, August 15, 2007.
Harriet A. Halstead. b. June 5, 1794, [Rensselaer County, NY] married Charles Haskin[s], b. November 2, 1802, and had the following children:
1. Charles R[euben] Haskin[s], b. June 28, 1820
2. Orlando E[noch] Haskin[s], b. March 4, 1822
3. Dewitt C[linton] Haskin[s], b. April 9, 1824
4. Ambrose A. Haskin[s], b. April 1826, d. Feb. 20, 1828
5. Royal A[ugustus] Haskin[s], b. May 4, 1832
Harriet A. Halstead was the sister of Catherine Marinda Halstead, who married my ancestor Michael M. Vandercook. Michael's mother was Mehitable Haskins, who is never mentioned in published Haskins genealogies. There is considerable circumstantial evidence that Mehitable was the youngest child of Enoch Haskins. Here is another example of the many interconnections between the Haskins and families affiliated with the Vandercooks of Rensselaer County, New York.
