Horace R Haskins & Ruenah Arrants-NY 1850
I am trying to locate the parents and location of my ggg grandfather Horace R. Haskins. He was born about 1820, perhaps in NY State, but maybe further north. I first find him in the 1850 census in New Albion, Cattaruagas Co., NY.He and his wife Ruenah Arrants are living on the farm of Ruenah's parents, James and Elizabeth Arrants.James Arrants is listed here in Napoli and Cold Spring Townships in the 1830 and 1840 census.Horace is a blacksmith. In 1858, Horace and Ruenah, with several children, move NW to Saginaw Village, Saginaw Co., Michigan. They are not to be found in the 1870 census. One of their sons, Aris R. Haskins, was my gg grandfather.I have hit the proverbial stone wall trying to trace Horace back in time and places from New Albion.I would be glad to receive any information on Horace or his parents.I have a fairly complete family tree from Aris down to the present to share with anyone that may have a need for it.Thanks -- Roger Haskins.
