Morris Haskins was born to James and Emma Haskins on July 10, 1885, in Beloit, KS., and died January 30, 1948 at 2:30 A.M. at the Community hospital in Beloit. In poor health for three years, Morris Haskins was 62 years, 6 months and 20 days at the time of his demise. He had been a patient at the hospital for twelve days and succumbed as the results of pneumonia and complications. On February 18, 1923, Morris Haskins was united in marriage to Maud Bradbury in Minneapolis, Kansas. Morris Haskins is survived by his wife and the following sisters; Mrs. Walter McQuire of Lucas, KS; Mrs. Wendell Seibert of El Dorado, KS; Mrs. Clifford Warren of Adelphia, Iowa; Mrs. Henry Schrader of Buffalo, New York; Mrs. Ray Tidball of Gassville, Arkansas; Mrs. Charles Helfrich of Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Charles Brunton of Osborne, Kansas. The deceased was more commonly known as "Pete" Haskins, and was a well known Beloit fixture. Gardening and selling products from his garden occupied much of his time. In the summer months Pete Haskins reaped pleasure from fishing. He was a member of the Evanelical United Brethren Church. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon (February 3) at Evangelical United Brethren Church with Rev. P.H. Blinn officiating. Internment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
