Enlisting in the Kansas 9th Cav Co G in 1861 are John Hase, Jacob Penturf and one of my grtgrtgrandfathers, Abijah Hampton. I have received, from the National Archives a record of Abijah's service. There was an application made for his pension in 1891 that gave me clues and, of course, more questions. Application for copies can be made from their website.
