Martha Smith- grand daughter of Frederick and Nancy Harwell
Looking for information on Martha, gand daughter of Frederick Harwell and Nancy Black, had daughter Tiny Smith @ 1878.
I think that Tiny married Edmond H. Washum in 1898 and had two children Elmer J. and Zula, then died by 1902, as Edmond remarried to Josie Harwell, daughter of William and Adeline Harwell.
I know that Ollie Harwell Hatmaker, daughter of William and Adeline, was born in Milledgeville, McNairy Co, TN and Edmond H. Washum/Washam/Worsham was in the area too. I have two marriage records showing a C.H. Washam (could very likely be an E.H. Washum) m. Tina Smith in 1898 in McNairy Co, also a marriage record of Edmon H. Washum m. Joshie/Jossie Harvell/Harwell in 1902 in McNairy Co, TN.
As Tiny Smith lived in her great-grandmothers HH in 1880 in Hardin Co, and William Harwell lived next door with his wife and children, I think it is highly likely that Edmond H. Washum and the Harwells lived near/in Milledgeville and he married these two women.
Milledgeville stradles 3 counties, Chester, Hardin, and McNairy.
So, can anyone disprove this theory? Or am I on to something?
