Hi David,

It is great to have someone 21 interested in their family history because you probably have people who can give you information right in your family! If your grand parents are living, ask them what the names of their parents are and where they were born and died. This should take you back to the early 1900's or earlier. Then if you can't get any further back, death certificates were required after 1913 and should tell you the parent's name of the deceased and where they were born. If you get back to the mid 1850's you might be able to post that information and someone can connect you. Remember there are census records every 10 years and after 1850 everyone in the house hold was listed....sometimes incorrectly but ususally listed.
