Sharon,
In the 1930 census for Missouri > Greene > Springfield > District 9, I found your family as Claude Harvill and wife Belle born 1889 in MO and 1891 in MO, resp.Children were:
Claudine 17 born MO; Maxince 16 born MO; John age 18 born MO.According to the census they live between Emmit Flood and Walter Blakley. Sometimes neighbors are a clue!
Do not be dismayed at the spelling of your name. You may find as you progress that the original could be Harwell. The English w was pronounced like a v!
The 1930 census was the last published census until 2010 and we will be able to see the 1940 census. Looking in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census I couldn't find Claude Harville (or any other spelling).I did find a James C. Harvil born 1892 (close for census records) to Matthew J. & Virginia F. Harvil of VA. in Mo.Neither fit in my extensives files of Harwells/Harville/Harvill/Harvell/etc.
If yor ordered a death certificate, assuming Claude died after 1913 when they were required, you might find the names of his parents and where they were born.
