Catherine Harvie born c. 1835 in Glasgow, third daughter of an Alexander Harvie. The 1851 Census for Glasgow has a Harvie family at 50 Portugal Street, Gorbals. Alexander and wife Catherine came from Linlithgow; an older daughter Janet also born there. Catherine jnr left Scotland in 1854 for South Australia. She married 1856 John Cooper in Adelaide (my 2 x great-grandparents). In Scotland Catherine had 2 nieces Katie and Janet Stalker who came to South Australia to stay early in 20th Century. I have not confirmed where my Harvies came from but am interested in any Harvie family who may have lived in Linlithgow early 19th C but moved to Glasgow by 1830s. Catherine Cooper died Riverton, South Australia 1920.
