Ira H Harvey b. 1772 MA-son of Zachariah Harvey Jr. b. 1772 MA has defined Y-DNA

Ira H Harvey and wife Hannah Kendall had a total of seven sons, six of whom lived to have children.

One of these sons was Alden Harvey b. 06 Sept 1805 in Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont. Thus far Alden is the only son of the above mentioned seven who has a living descendant who has been Y-DNA tested.

A living 3rd gr-grandson descendant of Alden Harvey and his wife Mary Hazelton has a documented paper trail which has been supplemented with a 37 marker Y-DNA test.

This test confirms that Alden Harvey's father Zachariah Harvey Jr. carried the same genetic Y-DNA coding as his 14-year younger brother Isaiah Harvey b. 8 May 1758, Mass.

Descendants of Isaiah Harvey's sons, Joel Harvey b. 1779 Mass and John Harvey b. 1788 Mass, have had 67 marker Y-DNA tests performed. The results of these tests confirm their status of being very closely related.

Thus we know that so far all tested descendants thought to have come through Zachariah Harvey Sr. exhibit a very closely related haplotype within the E1b1b1c1a (M34+, M84+, L29+) Haplogroup.

The purpose of this message is to invite any/all other living direct line male descendants of Ira Harvey to join this group with a Y-DNA test of their own and thereby further strengthen their paper trail research efforts.

I am prepared to assist with answering any questions or necessary guidance.
