I am interested in learning more about my Hartz family name but don't have any information other than my father, Richard Herman Hartz has lived in Angola, N.Y. all his life. I am presently 35 years old. My Grandfather, Richard Herman Hartz, Sr. died in 1973 and is buried in Angola. He was married to Josephine Grille. I know my ancestors were farmers in the western N.Y. area but I have had no success in locating any names. Any hints on how to get started? i live 1600 miles away now and researching in person is not very feasable.
