I have just recently came across My Great,Great Grandfathers geneology. This info he has chronologically dated back to the 1600's.
The family this consists of was the Harts family until around 1836, when Lyth orum Harts changed the spelling to Hartz when he moved to Kristiania (Oslo).
I have no connection to the Hartz family until 1949, but I am willing to try and answer any questions that you may have.
