My Mother is Catherine Roberta Harty. Her father was James Francis Harty born in the 1890's. They were both born on the west side of Chicago. my Great Grandfather was James Francis Harty Sr. (Married Bridget Cummings of Ireland) and we know he was from Ireland. His parents died when he was young and was sent to America to live with his Uncle in Wisconsin. from there he made it to Chicago. If this is consistant with your Harty family, please let me know. I would like to see if I can trace the family back a little further.
