I have quite a bit of(not all)information on my Harty's who came from Ardfert Parish, Ballinprior,Co. Kerry. Ballinprior is located just off the Banna Strand on the Galway Rd before the turn to Listowel. I know that we are related to the Harty's that own the Pharmacy in Tralee and that John and Mary (m. circa 1830)had siblings in the Listowel area. John immigrated between 1850 and 1857 with 6 of his children: Roger N., Margaret, Ellen, Michael, Johanna and Kate. There may have been more children and I think that perhaps his wife Mary may have died in Ireland. John was related to a Roger Lyons Harty who is listed on the 1850 census and may have been a brother. Of the children who immigrated I have verified marriage records and baptismal records on some of their children. I have all the records on my gggrandfather Roger Nealon Harty who married Johanna Shanahan here in St. Louis.
