There is an obituary in the Spokane Spokesman Review with a Robert Harty. Probably not the same Robert Harty that you're looking for, however. He is 56 and was in the Vietnam war. It is as follows in the Aug. 5, 2002 paper: "Visitation for Robert James "Bob" Harty, 56, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Tuesday at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. Funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River, with a reception following at the family home. Mr. Harty, who died Thursday, was a former longtime resident of Spokane and had lived in Priest River for the past 15 years. He was born in Vancouver, Wash. He moved with his family to Spokane in 1948, and graduated from Mead High School in 1964. He served in the Navy for two tours of duty in Vietnam, and in 1988 married Kathy Wardrop. Mr. Harty worked in the rodding room of the Kaiser Aluminum Mead Plant for 27 years and had worked as a boiler repairman for various companies. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Aaron Harty at home, and Trevor and Ryan Harty, both of Boise; a daughter, Tracy Harty of Spokane; a stepson, Scooter Beck, and a stepdaughter, Shelby Beck, both of Spokane; his mother, Betty Harty of Spokane; a sister, Karen Allinger of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Rick Harty of Spokane; and four grandchildren."
