I've an original carte de visite photograph of “W. Hartwig”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in about 1865-1870, in Lockport (Niagara Co.) NY and William looks to be about age 18-20.
I found William Hartwig in the 1900 census for Niagara Falls (Miagara Co.) NY. His DOB is listed as Jul 1847, and he was age 52, born in Germany. Wife, Minnie, was age 43, and living with them were children, AND his mother Wilhelmina, age 85, with DOB May 1815 Germany. Immigration data on that census shows that mother and son arrived in 1854.
