Hello;
My name is James hartwick, i am the son of Winfred C, Hartwick. i was reading your string of mesages and realized a couple of things that clicked with me. My father and his 3 brothers were born and raised in England Ark, which is in close proximity to Guy and there grandmother was cherokee. . My father would often tell me stories of asking his grandmother about the days prior to the reservations which was always met the response "those days are gone, dont think about it anymore". I also was told by my father that there are several relatives in and around that area. Do you have any genological information coming into the early 1900's of this family name. I dont have alot of first hand knowledge of the family members, but I do know that my grandmothers maiden name was Rena, i believe her last name was Petite. I also know that this particular branch of the family left that area during the dust bowl era. Another family with the last name of Gavin also made the trip out West. Any help is much appreciated.
