My grandfather Jesse Monroe Whaley had a half brother named George Gordon, born about 1886 in Arkansas (possibly Van Buren County). George's father was W. Henry Gordon and mother was Mary J. Renfro. Mary was Jesse's mother as well.
Jesse and George were good friends, both lived in Arkansas until about 1919. Next was Pontotoc Co., Okla., and after Jesse died (1924) at some point George moved back to Ark.
In later years George Gordon lived in Sallisaw, Okla., with a daughter; I know that was the case in the 1950s.
George was married to a woman who had previously been married to a Hartwick, and I find them on the 1920 census with several Hartwick children and several Gordon. I'm looking for anyone who connects with George Gordon or his Hartwick wife.
Please note: I have TWO Hartwick connections. My grand-aunt Minnie Miller's second husband was a Hartwick, and they had a son named Herman Hartwick. If you relate to any of these, please let me know.
