Alice, It has been a while since I've corresponded with you but Ican answer your question or questions. Ann Cossey married George Hartwick May 8 1854 in Conway County Arkansas. This George Hartwick can only be of two Possibilities: 1. He is either the George Hartwick that is listed in the household of Leonard and Delilah Hartwick in 1850 census or 2.the George Hartwick the son of Tempie Hartwick that later married Elijah Cagle. This Tempie seems to have been a widow of a George Hartwick in Lawrence County Tennessee. Both George were close to the same age within a year of each other. I'm leaning toward the first George which would had to be a grandson of Leonard through Leonards son Coonrod that died in Lawrence County in 1837 and that left a widow name Sally. This info gotton from Lawrence County court records. The Mary you asked about being the daughter of Ann Cossey Hartwick is actually her daughter in law the wife of John Hartwick. This will be best seen by the two census records of 1880 were Ann Hartwick and her Family are listed twice. First let me list the Archey Valley Township Van Buren County census first which list everybody in one household. #82 Ann Hartwick 50 widow John 24 son William 23 son Mary 30 dau George W. 5 g-son Nancy S. 1 g-dau John T. Carter 19 nephew Martha 13 niece Sherman 11 nephew Rutha p. 9 niece Rebecca A. 7 niece Charley 4 nephew Now here is the listing for Independence Township of Pope County Census household #32 John Carter Laborer Marthy sister Sherman brother Ruthy sister Rebecca sister Charley brother household #44 John Hartwick 25 Mary 25 George 4 Nancy 1 household #45 Ann Hartwick 45 William L. 23 Ihope this helps out some let me know if you have any questions but I'll leave with one note on George Hartwick and Tempie. George would be a brother to Leonard and John Hartwick and Susan Cossey Darren Altom Notify Administrator about this message?
