I am also descended from an Andrew Hartwell..as far as I can figure my line starts with John Hartwell of Tazewell co., then either Andrew D or J Hartwell, different sites have used both initials, Robert Burton McNutt Hartwell, Andrew Harrison Hartwell, Olive(Hartwell)Hughes(my grandmother), Charles Smith(my dad)..So I must be distantly related to your wife..I am trying to see how far back the family line goes..but as far as I get it is to the John Hartwell that was born sometime around 1784(at least that is what I have) and he was married to Frances (Bailey)..at least that is the only surname I have found for her. My family did a family tree in 1984, and it says that John was charged with stealing corn from William Brown Jan 1802. I also have that he must have died during the time frame you have. I don't know how long I will be with this website..I don't like paying for things when I'm not sure how much help it's going to be for me.
