Seeking information on family of David & Phebe Hartwell of either Patterson NY or over the state line in New Fairfield CT in 1830s.
I have two records from the probate records of Isaiah Moss.
The first dated 1837 shows a land tranaction between John & Phebe Hartwell of Patterson, Putnam Co. NY and Mary Thomas of the same, the second record is dated 1835 and is a land transaction between David & Phebe Hartwell of New Fairfield, CT and Mary Thomas. This record shows that Phebe and Mary are sisters!
I don't have access to the Hartwells of America so I am writing here to see if anyone who does can tell me something more about David and or John Hartwell.
Was David John's son, or was David & John one and the same.
My connection is through the Thomas line.
