Winslow Hartwell Sawyer

My 3rd great grandfather was Winslow Hartwell Sawyer. His parents were Asa Sawyer and Polly Barnard of New Hampshire, but they later moved to Mt. Holly, VT where Winslow was born in 1821. I don't know where Winslow get's his middle name of Hartwell, but the answer may lie in his mother's line, as I don't have a mother for her at this point. Her father is said to be Benjamin Barnard of New Hampshire (Peterborough is where Polly is said to be born). Polly was born in 1780, so her father would have been born about the 1740-1760 time frame, most likely. It may be that Benjamin was married to a Hartwell, and thus the middle name for Winslow, but not sure.

If anyone has seen a Barnard and Hartwell together about the 1740-1770 time frame, I would appreciate some help.

Blessings,

Jill Watters Rains
