Hartung research

I just came across this mailing list and thought I would post the information that I have on the research I have done on the Hartung family.

Max Oscar Emil Hartung (my gg grandfather) was born in Langewiesen, Thuerigen Germany in 1860. According to his obituary, he came to the US at the age of 5. He died in 1947 in Lombard, IL. I cannot find any information on his immigration to the US nor if he had any brothers or
sisters. I have come across a pedigree that shows Max's parents as Christian and Johanna but I have not been able to locate any information on them. Does anyone have any idea on how to locate Lutheran church's that are in the town that he was born?

He maried Mathilda Grossenheider in Chicago in 1886. Mathilda was born 9/4/1864 in Chicago and died in 1926 in Chicago.

They had two children, Arthur Clarence Hartung (my g grandfather) who was born around 1898 in Chicago and died in 1946 in Villa Park, IL and Irma Hartung born 1891 in Chicago and died 1974 in Lombard, IL.

Arthur married Marion Murphy and had two Children, Florence Irma Hartung (my grandmother) born 6/14/1918 and died 1977 Aurora, IL and Arthur C Hartung born 2/13/1914 and died 1977 in Wheaton, IL.

Marion Murphy died when the children were very young and Arthur then married Jessie Louise Pedersen born 5/27/1903 Chicago and died 1995 Wheaton, IL. Arthur and Jessie had one child together who died at birth.

If anyone has any information, please let me know..

Thanks
Laura
