Good morning. I'm so very grateful the four of you have done so much research. I'm a johnny come lately. My working theory will be Pieter and Anna Maragrita Schmidten in Germany in 1722. They had three children Englebert named for paternal grandfather, William named for maternal grandfather, and Henry named for uncle. Anna Maragrita died. Pieter married Margriet Kones 1732. They had eight children: Peter baptized 1734, Nicholaes baptized 1735, Lisabet baptized 1737, Hans Jurg baptized 1738, Hendrick baptized 1741, Catrina baptized 1743, Marya baptized 1745, and Jonathan born within 3 years.
Rather than try to prove this theory I'm going to try disprove it.
Rev. Michael Schlatter of the reformed faith first came to Frederick County in 1748 and baptized many children. Does any one have access to his records? Will keep in touch as this is my project for the coming year.
