I just had a chance to visit Gallia Co, OH last month. During my visit, I did some research on my gr-gr-gr-grandmother Sarah Hartsook. While in Gallipolis, I visited the local library, Historical Society, and County Court House. I found probate records for Jacob, William J. and Sarah's husband Elias McGath.

Sarah Hartsook b. 12/1/1810 Augusta Co, VA d. 3/13/1905 Northup, OH
m. 10/10/1837 Northup, OH to Elias McGath
Does this information look correct? You mentioned that Jacob Hartsook had 8 children. Do you have their names and dates?
