I am looking for Marriage and children of Elizabeth and Mary Bricker, sisters and daughters of Solomon Bricker, Knox County, Ohio. Both married Hartsock's and both later remarried. Here is what I have:
Elizabeth: B:1822 Knox Co. Oh. M:Jesse Hartsock 2/23/1841 Brandon, Knox Co., Oh; she later remarried M2: Jesse Babbs 12/25/1854, also in Knox Co., Ohio. My research indicates that the Jesse Hartsock indicated is Jesse Cox Hartsock (son of Henry and Amy Hartsock) who died in Iowa, July 1850; and was the father of Morgan Bricker Hartsock who served in the Civil War.
Mary: B1834 or 35 Knox Co. Oh. M: Aaron Hartsock (also a son of Henry and Amy Cox Hartsock) on 12/6/1866 in Knox Co., Oh. I believe she was his 3rd wife, the first two being Laura Jane Randal and Lucinda Stanley. Aaron also lived in Iowa. By 1895 she had remarried to someone named Winget, but was living with her son Jesse C. Hartsock (b:10/1850 Iowa City or Johnson Co., Iowa) in Brandon, Ohio. Since she was living with her son, I assume that her second husband was dead. However I have not found any record of this second marriage anywhere.
My problem is that Jesse C. Hartsock (b:1850) was born 6 years before the marriage to Aaron Hartsock and I have photo's of Morgan Bricker Hartsock inscribed on the back that Morgan was Jesse C.'s brother. So who was the father? Jesse Cox Hartsock who died in July 1850 and would have been Mary's Brother-in-law? Or someone else? Jesse C. Hartsock was my great grandfather and until I can clear this mess up, I'm stuck...
At this point I wouldn't be surprised is someone reported that Elizabeth killed her husband for messing around with her younger sister.....
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
