Stephen,

Peter Herzog/Hertzog was christened on either 4 Feb 1733 or 1734 at the First Reformed Church In Raratan (now Somerville), New Jersey. He was the son of Peter and Anna Margaretha (Kuntz/Koontz) Hertzog. Around 1757 he married Sarah, whose last name we don't know, probably in Raritan, New Jersey. He probably lived in Pennsylvania (Huntingdon County) and Frederick County, Maryland, and his children and grandchildren scattered to the winds (Maryland, Virginia, western Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, etc.).

His children's names as I have them were as follows:

Daniel, born 12 Jan 1759 in Frederick County, Maryland. Married Elizabeth Fundenburg/Funderburg, daughter of Walter and Catherine (Stuhl) Funderburg/Von der Berg, on 22 Jun 1779 or 1781. Daniel died in January 1834 in either Lancaster County, Ohio or Fairfield County, Ohio. Elizabeth died on 15 June 1815, and is buried in Wolfe's Cemetery near Union Bridge, Maryland. Daniel married a second time to Susannah (maiden name unknown)Tulkith/Tulerith who was born in 1769 in Pennsylvania and died in Fairfield County, Ohio in Jul 1856. Daniel and Elizabeth had seven children that I know of.

Peter, born in 1761 and married Catherine Lea. He was a wheelwright. Peter and Catherine had eight children that I know of.

Elizabeth, born 11 Apr 1764 (some say she was born in England?), probably in Maryland. She married John Glisan, a son of Thomas and Margaret (Hartsok)Glisan (Dont' know if or how Margaret is related) in 1784 probably in Maryland. John was born 12 May 1762/63 in Maryland and died on 2 Jan 1851. Elizabeth died 17 Feb 1833 probably in Maryland. Both are buried in Lover's Rock Cemetery, near Libertytown, Maryland. They had nine children that I know of.

Samuel, born in 1766 and died in Bracken County, Kentucky in 1813. He married Elizabeth Hamm around 1788 in Maryland. Elizabeth was born around 1761 and died in Sangamon County, Illinois after 1850. They had 11 children.

Jonathan, born in 1768. He may have lived in Tyrone Township, Huntgindon County, Pennsylvania, but because of the frequency of the name John and Jonathan am not sure.

Jene/Jane, born before 19 April 1768 when she was christened at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodsboro, Maryland. know nothing else about her.

Sarah, born 1770. Buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Pennsylvania. Records show she wasliving with her brother in 1848. There is a warranty of land of 320 acres shown for Sarah in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania on 18 March 1792.

Isaac, born around 1774 in Maryland and died in March 1835. He was married first to a women whose name I don't know in 1800 in Hopewell Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. She was born around 1774. They had 8 children. Isaac later married Susan Ashpoe who was born 1 Apr 1789 and died May 1876. Isaac and Susan had 5 children.

These are all the children I know. I would appreciate any corrections or additions/deletions that you or anyone else might have.

Please keep in touch.

John
