I have several John Hartsock's born between 1800 and 1830, but only one that married a Mary. Not sure if this will help, but this is the information I have.
John Hartsock, born 30 Aug 1820, in Pennsylvania. Do not know his mother or father. He died on 30 Aug 1890 in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. He was married to Mary Lakin, born 15 Mar 1844 in London, England. She died 13 Mar 1931 in Iowa City. Their children were (as I have it):
Ella, born 1863, in Iowa City, Iowa. Married a Rupner.
Morgan Bricker, born 1866, in Iowa City.Died in 1933.
Katherine (Kate), born 1868, Iowa City. Died 1929.
Richard, born 6 Feb 1870, Iowa City. Died 1947.
Annabelle, born 1871, Iowa City. Died 1895.
William, born 1873, Iowa City. Died 1954.
John, born 1875. Died 1875.
Della, born 1877. Died 1891.
George N., born 1879.
Charles N., born 25 Sep 1889. Married Naomi Grume.
There are other Hartsock / Hartsook families that moved to Iowa and Kansas in the mid 1800s. I have information on them, but see no mention of a John married to a Mary. I will be glad to forward information to you if you will e-mail me.
