The main events in your story agree with mine.I've learned a few things since I posted the original message.
1.Samuel Hartsough/Hartsock and Jane Elder married June 1821 in Fairfield Co. OH.The mar. is in the county marriage records.Many of her bros. and possibly her parents were living there at the time.

William, Samuel, Thomas Jefferson, and GeorgeWashington Elder all there in that time range.Samuel Hartsock is also there in the 1830 census.Only bros. Samuel and Thomas Jefferson are there in the 1840 census.
