My 4th great-grandmother was Ann/Nancy Ann/Ama Hartsock who married Alanson Rich in Calhoun Co. Illinois in 1834/36. They moved to Iowa. I haven't done recent research on my Hartsocks, but saw this in my notes and want to pass it on to other Hartsocks who may be related.
Alanson Rich was listed with other members of the Hartsock family as purchasing goods from the estate of Jess Cox Hartsock who died in 1850. Jess's widow Elizabeth had a sale prior to her returning to Ohio where her own people lived. Source: Land Record form the Recorder's Office at the Tama County Iowa Court House, Toledo, Iowa.
