Samuel, Daniel, and Isaac Hertzog/Hartsock

It appears that father, Pieter Hertzog, stuck to the traditional German method of naming his children.

Peter (bap. 1733-34, son of Pieter) and Johnathan (b. 1752, probably son of Pieter) both named three of their sons: Samuel, Daniel, and Isaac. We have no record of any of their ancestors with these names. Why did both families choose these names and why were the names chosen from the Old Testament?

There were twenty years between Peter and Johnathan's ages.

Were Peter and Johnathan's wives related and did the names come from the maternal line? Would appreciate any news and views.
