I'm wondering if your Ggrandfather was my Ggrandfather's long lost brother, Charles., b. 1862-3, Oldtown, Allegany County, Md. His father's name was Edward, & it seems they all stayed with family names through the generations. Charles took off, & was said to have become a gambler on a riverboat on the Mississippi, but that's all we ever knew. Have you any old stories that may be of use in finding your roots?? Did anyone ever talk of Md. or Pa., or a family of Kifers?
