The Hartshorn's were obviously living in northwestern Cecil County, MD near my ancestors in Octorara Hundred. Here are two church references and a deed (witnessed by John Hartshorn in 1795) for property in Octorara Hundred. Octorara Hundred lay to the west of Octorara Creek and was bounded by the Susquehannah River and Lancaster/Chester Counties, PA. You may want to confine your search to that area. Edgar M. Bralley, West Palm Beach

There are 15 references to the name Hartshorn in Peden's Inhabitants of Cecil County, Maryland, 1649-1774, as follows:

Hartshorn, Benjamin 15
Hartshorn, Jonath 81
Hartshorn, Jonathan 30,31,41,51,54,101,127
Hartshorn, Thomas 30,31,39,43,50,73

Thomas Hartshorn was on the Batchelor List in St. Mary Anne's Parish on 11 July 1765 in North Susquehannah Hundred. Thomas Hartshorn is listed in A Foot Company of Soldiers Under the Command of Capt. Edward Jackson in 1740 - Cecil County, MD.

Early Anglican Church Records of Cecil County, Maryland by Henry C. Peden, Jr., Willow Bend Books, Westminster, Maryland, 1999, reprinted 2001, p. 32:

St. Mary Anne's Parish Register (North Elk Parish) 1709-1799:
