HeLlo Eric, Thank you so much for your reply and info on Andrew and Dr. Wesley Hartsfield, as well as Jacob, the father of Andrew, living in Franklin Co. NC. I have been reading about these residences, which have included your gen-listings of the deeds.I have a copy of the Registration Document of the Hearsfield -Perry Antebellum farm for the National Register of Historic Places in Rolesville, Wake Co, 2003. It makes no mention of the OLD cemetery there on the farm, which amuses me, as Flavius was owner of the Green-Hartsfield house which is also on the List of National Register of Historic Places. We Hartsfield cousins here have some good news from the state of NC Archaelogy Deputy, Delores Hall, and a newly formed state Cemetery Survey commission who told me yesterday that they are researching the State Cemetery archives in Raleigh, looking for Andrew and Dr. Wesley's grave. Also, from my research I know that Dr. Wesley had 3 unmarried sons who died in the Civil War and I don't remember seeing where they might be buried. These 3 unmarried sons are brothers to my great-grandfather Flavius Hartsfield who died in 1892 whose grave is well marked, along with his wife, Nannie (Nancy) A. Rogers there in the old cemetery. For good reason, I do not believe that they would take Andrew back to Franklin to bury while his sons and immediate family are living there on the Heartsfield Antebellum farm, where Dr. Wesley's Doctor Office, house, etc. are located. If you'd like a better copy of tombstone, I will get one to you. I made a brass-rice paper rubbing and can take a digital photo of that for you. His marker was not as clear as Nannie's. We once cleaned the cemetery with swing blades, saws, hoes, etc. but the briars grew back. So we are working on a permanent solution of preservation. That was about 1999. Thanks again. I will keep you informed of the progress here with the Cemetery Commission. Melanie Hartsfield Sheldon Notify Administrator about this message?
