I looked at my census subscription with Ancestry.com. It looks like Cora Hartsfield was born in 1882 and married William Goodwin about 1898. The only Census that would show which Hartsfields were her parents would be the 1890 Census. Unfortunately the 1890 Census burned in the 1920s.
All the Hartsfields in Shelby County, Alabama appear to be descendants of John Holmes Hartsfield (1807-1878) and Ann Embry (b. 1809). John and Ann had three sons: James H. Hartsfield (b. about 1834), Warren J. Hartsfield (about 1837-1912), and John F. Hartsfield (b. about 1846). I find no records for John F. Hartsfield after 1860. Perhaps he died in the war. Cora's father was probably either James H. Hartsfield or Warren J. Hartsfield. She probably appears in the Shelby County probate records for one of these Hartsfields.
